A member of my college (The Queen's College, Oxford) was attacked on Shotover Hill by a wild boar. This was sometime in the 14th century. He defended himself by shoving a volume of Aristotle down the boar's throat while shouting, "Graecum est!"

Evry year the college has an annual Boar's Head Supper.
