Both of my sons were born in Bahrain and grew up there. The eldest did seven years in a boarding school in the UK before going to USC. The youngest stayed in Bahrain until he was 16. I returned to the US after 27 years in the Middle East when he was 17. Since they had not grwon up in America I thought that it would be a great thing to take them on a tour of the West. We flew into Salt Lake city and went to Craters of the Moon, Montana, Custer Battlefield, Yellowstone, Tetons. They spent the entire trip playing with some electronic devices and not paying any attention to the fantastic scenery through which I dragged them. The only thing that briefly captured their interest was Old Faithful. I took them to a rodeo in Cody Wyoming. They thought that it was the most boring thing that they had ever seen. The whole trip was a bust and the only real pleasure that I got out of it was a woman I picked up in a restaurant in Jackson Hole after they abandoned me to go back to the hotel room to play more video games.
