I am with you inasmuch as I'm not sure exactly what to feel. I used to own three houses in the area. Two of them burned down in this fire, one in the 'alphabet streets' in the Palisades and one up Las Flores Canyon in Malibu. Although I know longer own them their loss contributes to other losses that I have suffered over the last 15 years. However, my loss in this regard is slight to the thousands of people that have lost everything. I have incredible sympathy for them and only wish that I had any money to spare to contribute but I can't even pay all my own bills without assistance.

What I find almost as distressing as the devastation is the utterly despicable and inhumane attitude of all of the political hacks who are trying to capitalize on this tragedy by making political attacks. I have not heard one single word of sympathy or condolence from them and yesterday there were United States Senators threatening to withhold disaster relief funds. There was a time unless I am totally naive that being a Senator, a Representative or President of this country was a position of gravitas and responsibility. Now it seems that there is only name calling, self-serving boorishness and not one iota of charity existing in any of these moral midgets.
