I believe every word of this. And then there is:

"I was offered no advocate and no safe harbor to explain what really happened. It was all of their words against mine. I’m certain the commander wouldn’t have wanted me to explain because that would make his leadership look bad."

I have had my own problems with lack of support from the US Government when I was unlawfully detained in Bahrain. Bureaucrats (and that includes service personnel) don't care about much except covering their own asses and getting their pensions to vest. There are a few good ones but for the most part most people are weak and will take the line of least resistance rather than take a moral stand.
