I had to look up Maine Coon cats. They are pretty cool looking. We had a Rag Doll cat once. He was just about the smartest cat I've ever had but you could not leave anything and I mean anything on any surface in the house which was a real nuisance. Unfortunately, my teenage son and his inattentive buddies left the side door open in their coming and going, he got out and was eaten by a coyote. We had a bitchy neighbour who complained about the resulting fur in her yard. This was in California. We're now in Pennsylvania and work hard not to let our cat out. He's immensely stupid and when he did escape once he was gone for two weeks and eventually came home emaciated and showed that he was incapable of catching anything to eat or unable to scrounge off the neighbours.
