I heard a great joke from the Jaruzelski period.

A woman asks her husband to go to the shop and get 1 kg of ground round. He waits in line for three hours and when he gets to the head of the queue there is no meat. He starts shouting, 'This sucks. the system sucks'! A man in a trench coat comes by and says, "Don't speak like that tovarich. Remember the old days"? The man extends his thumb and forefinger and puts it to the man's temple and says, "Click".

The man says, 'Yes, you are right'. He goes home.

His wife says, "Did you get the meat'? He says, 'No'.

She says, 'Is it that bad'?
