I'm glad that I was no longer living there or that my books were not there to feed the flames. I have around 7000 volumes which are quite safe up here in hillbilly Pennsylvania unless the MAGAts take up book burning which is always possible these days.

Still, the loss of the house has affected me. It may have been the most beautiful thing I ever owned.
