It's hard to know what is right in these situations. My sons were born in Bahrain as I was working there. I sent the eldest to boarding school in England when he was 11 as he was brilliant and the schools in Bahrain were inadequate. He got a first-class education, but it was also emotionally hard on him, and we missed a lot of his adolescence.
