My best guess for what is driving the decrease in happiness for women has nothing to do with historic gender roles being lost because of "feminism" but rather because so many women these days are in fact working two full time jobs, one in the workforce and one in the home and that men although somewhat less lazy on the home front than they used to be are not picking up the slack. I'd be unhappy too.
