Ok, there is so much here on which to comment.
1) That is very interesting concerning the Lane brothers.
2) As I'm sure that you are aware and could have added how certain unusual names were in fact rejected by the offspring of famous people who adopted common names instead such as Zowie Bowie who preferred to be called Joe. Dhani Harrison and God Slick although I'm pretty sure that all of Frank Zappa's offspring embraced their names.
3) As to Corona, my brother always said that he would not drink a beer named after the tip of his penis so I'm sure that the same would apply to naming someone that.
4) The popularity of names changes drastically over time. My mother, Bernice and her sister Edna are names that were very popular early in the 20th century that have largely fallen out of favor today.
5) My name means 'valley' in Gaelic. My father wanted to name me Angus so thank God my mother put her foot down about that. It cannot be shortened. My partner's name is dissimilar. The only drawback of the name is that it is also a girl's name. However, this allowed me to do the following opening joke when I was doing standup in London.
'Hi. My name is Glenn Stewart and it's always been my fantasy to fuck the actress Glenn Close because that way when we come, we can both shout out 'Oh Glenn! Oh Glenn! It would be the ultimate act of narcissism".
