Perhaps women can't win no matter what they wear. When I was 17, I met some Egyptians when I was in Athens. They were the first Arabs that I ever met. They said that having a woman fully clothed in an abaya was more erotic than the way that western women dressed because if you caught a glimpse on an ankle, it made you imagine what her calf looked like which then made you imagine what her thigh looked like which made you imagine "What is here" and he grabbed his crotch to demonstrate. He then asserted that women wearing bikinis were not erotic as it left nothing to the imagination. I thought they were insane. Then when I lived in Saudi Arabia I knew they were. The obsession with female dress and other aspects of women was such that I thought somewhat jokingly that the only solution was to ban women entirely.
