Thank you for sending this link. The magazine seems much longer and more comprehensive than what they are putting out these days. I was particularly interested to see the obituary of Donald 'Bop' Willis in it. I remember him well. There are two incidents that stand out. I was in the Lower 6th Form, and we had him for European History for A level. He used to just read his notes to us. We were in the middle of the 16th century and in the next form he skipped about a 100 years. Everyone looked around but just dutifully wrote their notes. The next form he picked up where he left off. Eventually one of the boys got up some courage and said, "Excuse me sir but weren't we doing the Wars of the Schmalkeldic League"? 'Bop' looked up and said, "Ah, I thought you were the Upper 6th Form".

The other thing that happened is some prefect gave me a list for talking during study period, or playing cards, I can't remember. I refused to do it which got me another list. I refused to do it which got me another. After three lists you were then given a further punishment, such as mopping the kitchen floor. After refusing that three times you were supposed to get caned. So, I went to 'Bop', the nickname was because he was in charge of caning malefactors like me. I went to see him and said, "You're supposed to cane me". He just looked at me and said, "Get out of here". and the whole matter was dropped.

Wasn't Abingdon College once called the 'College of Further Education"? My mother taught there the year that we were in Abingdon.

How has the film industry treated you? I truly hate it and deeply regret ever getting involved in it. You can see my credits on IMDB under Glenn M Stewart
