The US system is actually very complicated which is one reason that the country is such a mess. I'm starting to lean towards breaking it up and letting all the reactionary people who would prefer some sort of twisted Christian (sic) theocracy go their own way. Willful ignorance is not a sound basis for the formation of public policy but that's what they want.

As an American who had embraced the ideals on which this country was founded it pains me to watch those being subverted by people who have no idea of what they are actually losing in their current power grab.
