There aren't classes at Oxford by the way.

As to sex at Oxford which you are setting up my girlfriend who was at Brasenose College lived on a staircase in her first year. There were about twelve young women on the staircase. She and a friend figured out that eleven of them were virgins when they arrived at University. By the end of the first term eight weeks later only one might still have been. They weren't sure about her. This is what happens when you turn young English women loose on the world.

As the novelist Tobias Smollett put it in his novel The Expedition of Humphrey Clinker, (Published in 1771)

'Liddy had been so long copped up in a boarding-school, which, next to a nunnery, is the worst kind of seminary that ever was contrived for young women, that she became as inflammable as touch-wood; and going to a play in holiday-time, - 'sdeath, I'm ashamed to tell you! she fell in love with one of the actors - a handsome young fellow that goes by the name of Wilson. The rascal soon perceived the impression he had made, and managed matters so as to see her at a house where she went to drink tea with her governess.'

Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose.
