This is a true story. When I was living in Bahrain a putative bank robber attempted to rob a branch of the National bank of Bahrain with a knife at 9am when the branch opened. He was told that only the manager could open the safe and that he didn't come to work until 10 and that the robber should come back at that time. The robber duly did, and the police having been notified in the meantime arrested him when he returned!
