However, one small ray of hope re Project 2025 is that Trump's old fixer Michael Cohen says that Trump actually cares about his legacy and that he will cut a number of the loonies use as he used them to get elected and now, he doesn't need them anymore. He is certainly known to stiff people who help him.

I do agree with your assessment that the Democrats are their own worst enemies in terms of excluding people from their 'big tent'.
